My Sassy Girl

Direction
Yann Samuell

Starring

Jesse Bradford as Charlie Bellow
Elisha Cuthbert as Jordan Roark

I recently discovered the trailer of the American remake of the Korean hit movie, My Sassy Girl. The American remake stars Jesse Bradford and Elisha Cuthbert. Bradford, best known for his performance in the movie Flags of Our Fathers reprises the role of Cha Tae Hyun in the original, while Cuthbert portrays the seemingly happy-go-lucky girl. The only difference is that in this version, the sassy girl's name is revealed. The film is expected for release this year.

The films' teaser does not include My Sassy Girl's signature song I Believe. It is highly unlikely that there will be an American version, although fans of the original are clamoring for one.

The original film was a major box office success all over the East Asian region. Through word-of-mouth, the film has also become one of the most popular Korean movies in the United States.

I agree with many of my friends who were disappointed with the film based on the trailer. I didn't like many of the American "innovations" to the film which for me had made the film lose its magic.
