Moving in

At last, freedom!

After months of working extended hours just to get extra pay for overtime, my hard work has definitely paid off. I have a new home. And I think I'll enjoy every bit of this newfound liberty I have come to cherish in this new home.

Only recently, I grabbed a copy of Who Moved My Cheese?. It features four characters--two mice named Sniff and Scurry and two people named Haw and Hem--who all live in a maze. While amusing and entertaining, it is likewise profound and enlightening. Cheese is actually metaphorical; it stands for all the good things one can ever have in life--a good job, wealth, peace of mind and success. Likewise The Maze represents the environment where one dwells, where one seeks his cheese in life. Written for all ages, this story takes less than an hour to read, but its unique insights can last for a lifetime.

The story chronicles their struggles, compares their reactions and details their failures and successes as they live their lives in search for their daily cheese. All of a sudden, the characters who got used to an easy life are faced with a sudden and unexpected change. While Sniff and Scurry immediately run off in search of new cheese, Haw and Hem blame the everything else--except themselves--about their current predicament. But after rethinking about his laxity, Haw successfully deals with this dilemma, and writes what he has learned on the walls of the maze. Here are bits of wisdom we can all pick up from it:

Change Happens
They Keep Moving The Cheese

Anticipate Change
Get Ready For The Cheese To Move

Monitor Change
Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old

Adapt To Change Quickly
The Quicker You Let Go Of Old Cheese, The Sooner You Can Enjoy New Cheese

Change
Move With The Cheese

Enjoy Change!
Savor The Adventure And Enjoy The Taste Of New Cheese!

Be Ready To Change Quickly And Enjoy It Again & Again
They Keep Moving The Cheese.

Thanks to Haw we can all discover how to deal with the changes in our lives, so we can all enjoy less stress and more success in work and in life.

Thank God, I have a new home.
