The first week of the finals was a sight for all to see. A grand new stage, thousands of excited fans who have high hopes for their faves, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and two weeks of Beatles songs! It was the first time American Idol was doing covers of the great Liverpool quartet and the mere thought of it kept me excited.
Highlights of the evening: great performances from David Cook (Eleanor Rigby) and Brooke White (Let It Be), and a lousy rendition of We Can Work It Out from David Archuleta who lost track of the lines. He therefore didn't escape scorn from Simon Cowell.
