Lalola

Another Philippine remake of a Spanish telenovela is soon to hit the boob tube. GMA Network recently acquired the rights to remake the hit Argentine telenovela, Lalola.

Lalola is the story of a man named Ramiro "Lalo" Padilla, the director of "High Five" and editor of the famous magazine "Don." Because of his popularity and good looks, he is surrounded by many women who admire him.

Romina is one of Lalo's girls. She is in love with him, but because he refuses to go steady with her, she decides to fight back. She visits a witch who creates a spell that turns Lalo into a beautiful woman, so he could feel the pain, desperation and frustration of a gorgeous woman constantly being harassed by men around her.

Lalo wakes up to find the change in his body. He could hardly believe the change! Because he couldn't convince anyone of his metamorphosis, he changes his name to Dolores "Lola" Padilla. He introduces his new self as a cousin of Lalo.

In the Philippine remake, Paolo Contis stars as the playboy Lalo and Rhian Ramos as Lola. Lalola is currently the third remake of a hit Hispanic series, following the local versions of Marimar (GMA) and Betty La Fea (ABS-CBN).
